We are pleased to announce the 1st International Conference on Yucatec Linguistics (ICYL) to be held at El Colegio de Mexico in Mexico City on October 4-5, 2012. ICYL aims to bring together scholars working on a broad range of topics in the grammar of the Yucatec Maya language.

Call for Papers:
We invite abstracts for 20 minute presentations. We welcome research in any linguistic framework on a variety of sub-disciplines (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, psycholinguistic and experimental studies, and anthropological linguistics). We seek to bring together researchers from Mexico, Europe, the United States, and other countries who are working on issues of the grammar of Yucatec Maya. We also encourage the participation of native speaker students and scholars of Yucatec Maya. Talks at the conference can be delivered in either English or Spanish.
Abstracts should be a maximum of 500 words (English or Spanish), on one page with 1 inch margins, in Times New Roman, 12pt., single-spaced including references and data. Abstracts should be submitted as a PDF file to: yucatec2012
