The School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics wishes to make afull-time appointment in the area of Sociolinguistics with specialisms inphonetic/phonological, (morpho-)syntactic or discourse-pragmatic variationfrom 1 September 2012. Applicants must have a PhD in Sociolinguistics or aclosely related sub-area, relevant teaching experience and evidence ofresearch achievement and potential appropriate to stage of career. Applicantswhose teaching and research experience have a quantitative orientation andwho have an excellent and developing research programme in an area thathas potential for attracting external funding relating to variation and change inEnglish are preferred.
