To mark the occasion of York's 50th anniversary, the University intends tocreate up to twenty new Research Lectureships. These positions are aimedat providing outstanding postdoctoral researchers with an opportunity for anextended period of research and a permanent career path. The positionsoffer the opportunity of a 3-year period to concentrate on establishing a strongpersonal research profile, followed by a transfer to an established academicpost; subject to successful completion of probation, appointments will bemade at Grade 7 (the entry-level academic grade of Lecturer). EachAnniversary Research Lecturer will have a mentor in the host department andthe University will make available a comprehensive training programme.
