The Institute invites applications for the following posts:Associate Professor/Assistant Professor/Lecturer (Linguistics)(Ref: AssoProf/AsstProf/Lect/LING/FLAN/0212)Faculty of Languages

The Faculty is seeking academics excited by the prospect of contributingtheir expertise in the area of Linguistics. The appointee will participate inteaching, research, knowledge transfer and community service. He/She isrequired to be actively involved in research that leads to publications inrecognized refereed journals; develop and teach in programmes at both theundergraduate and postgraduate levels; give guidance to students in thecapacity of academic adviser; supervise students on teaching practice andcontribute to faculty/departmental activities and management.

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in the discipline of ChineseLinguistics, areas of specialization include one or more of the followings:syntax, semantics, discourse, and pragmatics, plus a substantial andsuccessful record of publications in the field and the ability to obtain externalgrants. Applicants with less substantial relevant experience may beconsidered for the rank of Assistant Professor or Lecturer.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental benefits and, whereapplicable, housing benefits.
