I am interested in modifiers of prepositions in English such as the the brackets words in the following (invented) sentences:
1. That dude was [all] up in my face.
2. The cat ran [straight] up the tree.
3. The car went [clear] through the house.
I am just getting started in my investigation of these modifiers, though I have quite a bit if data. I am looking for some references that might discuss this kind of structure, its social use, or any other relevant properties.
Thanks
