Meeting Description:
The Manchester Forum in Linguistics (mFiL) is an annual event which aims to bring together new researchers, including postgraduate students, postdoctoral researchers and early career researchers, to present current work, from any field of linguistics, and importantly, to offer advice and information to support new researchers.
The event includes the presentation of papers, posters, plenary talks and a careers panel, as well as a dinner and drinks.
Plenary Speakers:
We are delighted to welcome the following new lecturers and emerging researchers to share their research and experience of working in academia.
Claire Nance - Lancaster University
Chris Cummins - Universität Bielefeld
Caitlin Light - University of York
Josef Fruehwald - University of Edinburgh
Call for Papers:
Submissions for oral and poster presentations in all areas of linguistics are welcomed.
Presentations should be no more than 20 minutes in length with 10 additional minutes allocated for questions, comments and discussion. Please note that preference will be given to abstracts which contain implications for linguistic theory.
Submission of Abstracts:
Abstracts should be no more than one page of A4 in length, 12pt, excluding references.
The deadline for receipt of all abstracts is 1 September 2013.
