Language and Linguistics New Editorial Policy

Since the launching of Language and Linguistics (henceforth L&L) in 2000, there has been a steady increase of both the submission and publication rate. In order to accommodate this large increase while trying to augment L&L’s academic visibility, there will be a change of L&L’s editorial policy starting from July 1, 2013. Instead of being headed by an Editor-in-Chief and an Executive Editor, the new editorial task force will consist of an Editor-in-Chief and three Associate Editors. We are extremely honored that Professor C.-C. Jane Tang, Professor Thomas Hun-Tak Lee, Professor Henry Y. Chang and Professor Pei-chuan Wei have kindly agreed to become the new editorial team to provide valuable support regarding the overall academic development of the journal and the monographs series.
Below, a short bio of the Editor-in-Chief and the three Associate Editors:
Professor C.-C. Jane Tang (Editor-in-Chief) received her Ph.D from Cornell University and is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Linguistics, Academia Sinica. Her research interests lie in Chinese linguistics, Austronesian linguistics, typology and formal syntax.
Professor Thomas Hun-Tak Lee (Associate Editor) received his Ph.D from UCLA. He is a professor at the Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Associate Dean of Arts. His research interests lie in language acquisition and syntax/semantics, with particular reference to issues of learnability and the first language acquisition of Cantonese and Mandarin.
Professor Henry Y. Chang (Associate Editor) received his Ph.D from National Tsing Hua University. He is an Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Linguistics, Academia Sinica. His research interests lie in Austronesian linguistics, syntax and semantics.
Professor Pei-chuan Wei (Associate Editor) received his Ph.D from National Taiwan University. He is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Linguistics, Academia Sinica. His research interests lie in Historical linguistics and language archive.
With the help of the new editorial team, we believe L&L, included in the SSCI citation index since 2007, is ready to face and conquer more challenges while developing more academic visibility undeservedly underscored so far.
L&L is an international journal which publishes research in general or theoretical linguistics on languages of East Asia and the Pacific Region, thus encompassing Sino-Tibetan, Austronesian, Austroasiatic and Altaic language families, inter alia. Contributions may be in the form of original research articles, squibs or book reviews.
