Language studies have for years tended to concentrate on the analysis of harmonious interactions. However, more recently, the study of acrimonious interaction has started gathering momentum. So the launching of the Journal of Language Aggression and Conflict (John Benjamins) is a timely event to give center stage to research focusing on the language of conflict and aggression.
