Meeting Description:

The bi-annual conference of the Linguistic Society of New Zealand will be held this year in Christchurch at the University of Canterbury. Research is welcome from local and international scholars in any area of linguistics.

Invited speakers will give both a plenary talk and a workshop.

Workshop on behavioural methods and linguistics: What can they add to the linguistic enterprise of understanding cross-linguistic generalizations?

Dr. Sasha Calhoun (Victoria University of Wellington)
Workshop on prosodic prominence: What it is and how do we use and identify it?

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for presentations and posters in all areas of linguistics (including sociolinguistics/language and society), and from any region or language of the world. Talks will be 30 minutes long with 20 minutes for presentation and up to 10 minutes for discussion. Abstracts, which will be reviewed anonymously, are to be no longer than 300 words excluding references and figures. All abstracts are to be submitted electronically via the EasyAbs system on The LINGUIST List. Authors will be notified of the outcome of their submission in early September.
