Meeting Description:
The Department of Modern Philology and FITISPos Research Group of the University of Alcalá (Spain) are pleased to announce the 1st International Young Researchers’ Conference on Translation and Interpreting. The conference will be held in Guadalajara, Spain, on 7 and 8 November 2013, and will gather young researchers in the field of Translation and Interpreting in order to offer the opportunity to share and discuss their current research. It is also conceived as a national and international forum to meet up and establish a network for future research.
Venue:
The conference will take place at the Facultad de Educación, Guadalajara Campus, University of Alcalá (Spain).
Academic Programme:
The conference will include:
- General plenary sessions on theoretical and practical issues in Translation and Interpreting research
- Panel discussions with the contribution of keynote speakers
- Presentation of contributors’ communications

Call for Papers:
We welcome papers for presentations by novice researchers (PhD candidates, postgraduate students and academics who have recently obtained a PhD) focusing on research projects in the field of Translation and Interpreting, especially those concerning current and innovative research in any of the following fields of study:
- Public Service Interpreting and Translation
- Translation Technology
- Legal Translation
- Audiovisual Translation
- Scientific-Technical Translation
- Business and Financial Translation
- Conference Interpreting
We invite submissions for research papers (of approximately 20 minutes). Conference languages will be Spanish and English.
Abstracts should be of around 300 words in length (excluding references) and should include:
- The contributor’s name
- The contributor’s affiliation
- Title- Three keywords that best represent the paper to be presented
- Research methodology and most outstanding outcomes
