Call Deadline: 31-Aug-2013
Meeting Description:
The Society for Pidgin & Creole Linguistics is pleased to announce its Winter Meeting, to be held in conjunction with the annual convention of the Linguistic Society of America.
Discussions on all aspects of pidgin and creole languages, as well as contact vernaculars and related phenomena, are welcome.
Call for Papers:
Abstracts for papers on the phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, lexicon, social aspects of language, history of the discipline, education or any pertinent issue involving pidgin and creole languages or other contact languages are invited for anonymous review. Full papers will be allowed 30 minutes, including 10 minutes for discussion.
Abstracts should be submitted online the EasyAbs submission form (
http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/SPCLMinne2014). Abstract submission opens on 12 July and closes on 31 August 2013. Notification of acceptance will be made in early October.
Abstracts (including examples, if needed) must be no more than 500 words (excluding title and references), in type no smaller than 10 point and preferably 12 point. References may be included on a second page. Abstracts exceeding the word or page length limit or in a type smaller than 10 point will be rejected without being evaluated. Please note the word count at the bottom of the abstract.
Omit your name from abstract itself. If you identify yourself in any way on the abstract (e.g. In Brown (2001) I claim...), the abstract will be rejected without being evaluated. Your name should only be on the first page of the submission form.
If your abstract uses any special fonts, please upload it to EasyAbs as a PDF file in addition to a Word document, as special fonts may not transmit accurately.
If and only if you are unable to access EasyAbs, abstracts may be sent as an attachment to the SPCL Executive Secretary (spclsociety
gmail.com).
