Call Deadline: 20-Jan-2014
Meeting Description:
This workshop within the Olomouc Linguistics Colloquium, Olinco 2014 (June 5 - 7, Czech Republic,
http://olinco.upol.cz/) will be held during the last day of the main conference.
The invited speakers and discussants for the workshop are:
Jamal Ouhalla (University College, Dublin)
Joseph Emmonds (Palacký University, Olomouc)
2nd Call for Papers:
The workshop welcomes submissions that give evidence that various dialects or even languages can be better analyzed in ways that significantly modify traditional classifications. The hypothesized reclassifications can range from far-reaching to those of limited scope. The invited speakers will argue that Moroccan Arabic is a relexified dialect descended from medieval Spanish (Romance), and that Modern English descends from a dialect of Norse (North Germanic) spoken in the East Midlands.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 20 January 2014. Please visit
http://olinco.upol.cz/ for further details.
