The 8th International Conference on Language
Variation in Europe
27-29 May 2015, Leipzig, Germany
ICLaVE is established as one of the most
important for a for research in the area of
language variation in Europe. It aims at
bringing together scholars of any European
language and language spoken in Europe with the
purpose of discussing methodological and
theoretical issues in the study of language
variation and change. Scholars in any area of
linguistics, such as historical linguistics,
psycholinguistics, dialectology,
sociolinguistics etc. are invited to submit
their proposals.

Workshops:
Workshop proposals deadline: 31 August
2014.
Notification of acceptance/rejection of
workshops: 30 September 2014.
The organizing committee invites workshop
proposals on specific topics related to the
general theme of this series of conferences,
viz. language variation in Europe. Workshops
are to focus on a specific topic with a maximum
of 7 x 20-minute papers plus half an hour for a
concluding discussion. In their proposal,
workshop organisers should briefly describe the
workshop topic and give the names, affiliation
and e-mail addresses of presenters, as well as
the abstracts of individual papers.
Abstracts/Posters:
Abstract/poster submission deadline: 30
November 2014.
Notification of acceptance/rejection of
abstracts/posters: 1 February 2015.
We invite abstracts for paper (20-minute
presentation + 10-minute discussion) and poster
presentations in all areas of language
variation in European languages and languages
spoken in Europe.
