Meeting Description:
We are pleased to announce the first Okanagan
Workshop on Innovation in Language Teaching to
be held on August 16, 2014 at the beautiful
University of British Columbia Okanagan campus
in Kelowna, British Columbia. OWILT 2014 is a
one day workshop.
Call for Papers:
Abstracts are invited for papers on any topic
that addresses the main theme of the workshop:
innovation in language teaching. The organizing
committee is especially interested in papers
that focus on the following areas, although
other topics are welcome:
- Flexible learning in language classes
- Community-based (experiential) learning
- Innovative uses of technology in the language
classroom
- Social media as a language teaching tool
The talks should be 30 minutes long: 20 minutes
for the presentation and 10 minutes for
questions. Alternatively, the presentation
could last 30 minutes and include a short
practical component.
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
- Please submit your abstract at
http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/OWILT2014
by midnight on April 5, 2014.
- Abstracts should be anonymous. Author name(s)
should not be included anywhere in the abstract
or the file name.
- Abstracts should not exceed 1 page in length,
including references.
- Abstract submissions are limited to two per
author (one as a single author and one as a
co-author).
