The Linguistics conference of Airlangga
University, Indonesia.
The conference is organized by the Faculty of
Humanities, Airlangga University. We expect
participations from academics and professionals
not only from the linguistics discipline, but
also those from the related disciplines, e.g.
literature, cultural studies, communication
studies, anthropology, etc.
The following are the keynote speakers who have
confirmed their attendance to the
conference:
Prof. Shigeru Yamada (Waseda University,
Japan)
Dr. Sugiyono (Badan Bahasa)
Dr. Ni Wayan Sartini (Universitas
Airlangga)
Rizki Andini, Ph.D. (Universitas Airlangga)
Venue:
The conference will be held at the campus
building of the Faculty of Humanities,
Airlangga University, Jl. Dharmawangsa Dalam
Selatan, Surabaya. The campus is located right
in the centre of Surabaya city.
Call for Papers:
Based on the theme of the conference, i.e.
Language Phenomena in Urban Society, we would
like to accept papers with the following
topics:
- Language in film and television
- Code-mixing and code-switching in the
communication in the society
- The dynamics of language in literature
- Maintenance of a local language in urban
society
- Translation of cultural phrases and terms
- The influence of a foreign language in a
local community
- The use of dictionaries in the information
technology era
- Language teaching and learning in rural and
urban societies
- Cultural reflection in language
- The challenges and opportunities of
lexicography of local languages
