Meeting Description:
The sixteenth annual MwALT conference will be
held Friday, October 3, and Saturday, October
4, 2014, at the University of Michigan in Ann
Arbor, Michigan. CaMLA will host the
preconference workshop and opening reception on
Friday. Palmer Commons will be the venue for
the Saturday sessions. The conference theme
this year is Under Construction: Building
Arguments, Assessments, and Expertise. We look
forward to welcoming the MwALT community to Ann
Arbor in October.
Call for Papers:
The sixteenth annual MwALT conference will be
held Friday, October 3, and Saturday, October
4, 2014, at the University of Michigan in Ann
Arbor, Michigan. The conference theme is Under
Construction: Building Arguments, Assessments,
and Expertise. Abstracts related to the theme
are invited in three categories:
Paper Presentations:
Presenters will be given 20 minutes to share a
completed piece of research, and 10 minutes
will be allotted for audience questions.
Works in Progress:
Presenters will have 10 minutes to share their
progress in ongoing research, present
preliminary data, or describe projects still in
the planning stage. These presentations will be
organized in a workshop format, with time
reserved for open discussion among presenters
and the audience at the end of each hour-long
block of presentations.
Poster Presentations:
Posters may present either completed or
in-progress work in a visual format.
Submission Instructions:
Abstract submission will be available from
Friday, March 14, through Monday, May 19, via
the EasyAbs submission service at
http://linguistlist.org/confservices/mwalt2014.
Abstracts must conform to the following
guidelines:
- Upload your abstract as a PDF or Word
document.
- Abstracts must be anonymous. Do not include
your name, affiliation, or any other
identifying information (such as citing prior
work in the first person) in your abstract
text, file metadata, or filename.
- Indicate in the body of your abstract which
presentation type(s) you would like it to be
considered for.
Abstracts must be no longer than 250 words,
exclusive of references.
Notification of acceptances will be made by the
end of June.
