Dear all,
My name is Trisha and I am trying to understand
better about Attardo's General Theory of Humor
(GTVH) because I want to use this theory for my
thesis.
Can someone explain to me more about these
three KR:
1. Script Opposition,
2. Logical Mechanism, and
3. Language?
and my second question is:
My thesis is about failed humor in stand up
comedy.
I would like to analyze the reason why they do
not laugh (silent) after the punchline told by
the performer. But, since there is no verbal
comment or reaction from the audience in the
video, It's impossible to know the exact reason
why the do not laugh. I can only rely on the
audience facial expression on that video (for
example shock, confuse, etc).
Is there any possible method that I can use? Is
it possible to use the viewers' comments under
the video? (I found these videos on
YouTube)
Thank you.
Best regards,
Trisha.
