Meeting Description:
We are pleased to announce that the 43rd New
Ways of Analyzing Variation conference (NWAV
43) will be held on October 23-26, 2014 in the
Hilton Chicago Magnificent Mile Suites hotel in
downtown Chicago, Illinois. The conference is
hosted jointly by the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign and the University of Illinois
at Chicago.

Final Call for Papers:
NWAV 43 abstract submission deadline has been
extended to June 1, 2014.
New Ways of Analyzing Variation 43, Chicago
October 23-26, 2014
Abstract submission is now open for the New
Ways of Analyzing Variation (NWAV) 43 in
Chicago!
We invite submissions for papers in all areas
related to language variation. Abstracts should
be submitted via the online abstract submission
page:
http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/NWAV2014.
The submission page is also accessible from the
conference website:
http://www.nwav43.illinois.edu.
Abstracts should be no more than 500 words,
excluding references, and must be anonymized to
omit all information about the author(s). If
references are cited in addition to the 500
word limit, publications from the author(s)
should be also omitted in the reference
section.
Authors may submit one singly-authored and one
jointly-authored abstract, or two
jointly-authored abstracts. Abstracts will be
anonymously reviewed. Papers will be considered
for both oral and poster presentations. Oral
presentations will be selected for four
parallel sessions and will be expected to last
20 minutes with 5 minutes for questions. Poster
presentations will be featured at a two-hour,
separate poster session on October 24.
We are also accepting proposals for a limited
number of panel sessions. Prospective panel
organizers should include individual 500-word
abstracts for each participant and a 300-word
abstract explaining the rationale for the
panel. Panel abstracts will undergo regular
review.
