Metalinguistic discourses. Theorization and linguistic research.

This conference is a follow-up of the first conference organized by CRIDAF-EA453 in 2012 on the topic of linguistic theories and theorization. Its purpose is to go deeper into the field of study initially explored by that first meeting, which aimed at assessing the results of linguistic research as well as various theoretical frameworks, both in English or general linguistics. While still addressing issues internal to linguistics, this second conference will also focus on the relationship of linguistics with other disciplines, studying how linguistics interfaces with related fields of study such as philosophy and philosophy of language, psychology and neurosciences.

The discussions will try to analyse and possibly confront metalinguistic theoretical discourses so as to evaluate their descriptive and explanatory power, and to study how theorization within the aforementioned related disciplines can interface with other theoretical constructs belonging to linguistics proper.

All papers should deal with English linguistics, or contrastive linguistics including the study of English.
