The first review publication in the field of
German linguistic studies, Zeitschrift für
Rezensionen zur germanistischen
Sprachwissenschaft (ZRS) [Journal for Reviews
in German Linguistics] aims to monitor the
ever-growing number of new linguistic studies
and make them accessible to its readers. Before
the journal was founded in 2009, scholars
interested in new linguistic publications found
relevant information only in the rather limited
review sections of other specialist journals.
ZRS focuses primarily on German linguistic
studies, yet it also discusses general
linguistic topics inasmuch as they are
connected with German Studies and may be of
interest to scholars working in the field of
German linguistics.
In early 2014, ZRS, now well-established, was
turned into an open access journal. In
cooperation with the University of Zurich, De
Gruyter offers free access to the online
version for an initial two years. All reviews
published so far in 2014 are accessible at
http://www.degruyter.com/printahead/j/zrs,
and more will follow soon. As a bonus, the
second issue of volume 2013 forms part of the
open access offer as well.
A printed version will continue to be available
and will be published in a double volume at the
end of each year.
