Description:

The Ger­man gram­mar group at the De­part­ment for Ger­man and Dutch Lan­gua­ge of the Free Uni­ver­si­ty Ber­lin of­fers a full-​ti­me re­se­arch po­si­ti­on star­ting at 01.04.2015. The sala­ry and so­ci­al be­ne­fits are de­ter­mi­ned by the Ger­man pay scale for state em­ployees (Ent­gelt­grup­pe 13 TV-L FU) and amounts to 3300–4762 € per month, de­pen­ding on pre­vious pro­fes­sio­nal ex­pe­ri­ence (see in­co­me com­pu­ta­ti­on).

The ideal can­di­da­te works on the gram­mar of Ger­man or ano­ther Ger­ma­nic lan­gua­ge with a spe­cia­liza­ti­on (pre­fer­ri­bly a com­ple­ted PhD the­sis) in for­mal ap­proa­ches (for in­stan­ce HPSG, LFG). The po­si­ti­on in­vol­ves 4 hours of teaching per week in the BA Deut­sche Phi­lo­lo­gie and the MA Spra­chen Eu­ro­pas: Struk­tu­ren und Ver­wen­dung.

The po­si­ti­on is tem­pora­ry, with an in­iti­al con­tract over three years.
