The conference is organized by the Norwegian Graduate Researcher School in Linguistics and Philology (

This first edition will be hosted by UiT, The Arctic University of Norway on January 22-23, 2015, giving you a rare opportunity to see both the first rays of the Arctic Sun and the occasional display of Northern Lights.

The conference is open to all graduate students in linguistics and philology, from both Norway and abroad, provided they have not defended a PhD by October 24, 2014.

2nd Call for Papers

Extended deadline: October 31, 2014

We welcome abstracts in all areas of linguistics. The pool of topics includes: syntax, semantics, phonology, morphology, phonetics, language acquisition, psycholinguistics, cognitive linguistics, sociolinguistics, bilingualism, multilingualism, language policies, translation studies, computational linguistics, diachronic linguistics, classical philology etc.

Talks will have a 20+10 format, and will be organized in parallel sessions, depending on the number of accepted speakers.

Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint presentation per author.

Abstracts should be:

- Written in English
- No longer than 2 pages, including references, tables, and illustrations
- 12 pt. Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing
- Saved as a .pdf file
- Submitted electronically via our EasyAbs page:

Submissions must be anonymous and should not reveal the identity of the author(s) in any form.
