Leiden University invites applications for a fulltime lectureship in Turkish. Requirements include an MA degree in teaching Turkish as a foreign language (TTFL) or equivalent, e.g. Second Language Acquisition / Foreign Language Pedagogy with specialization in Turkish; and native proficiency in Turkish. Proficiency in Ottoman Turkish, the ability to teach content courses in Middle-Eastern Studies (culture, history, linguistics, modern society, etc), and a PhD degree in a relevant field may be an advantage. Appointment will be fixed-term, from August 2015 through July 2017, with the possibility of extensions of up to four years, and of a permanent position thereafter.
