Interdisciplinary Encounters - Dimensions of Interpreting Studies

The conference aims to bring together researchers, scholars, practitioners, interpreters, interpreter trainers as well as postgraduate students to share their research results, perspectives and experiences regarding the interdisciplinarity in the field of Interpreting Studies.

Call for Papers:

We welcome papers which address the interdisciplinary character of Interpreting Studies (IS) in the following areas (but are not limited to):

- Conference interpreting
- Community interpreting/public service interpreting
- Sign language interpreting
- IS and linguistics
- IS and sociology
- IS and psychology
- IS and anthropology
- IS and law, forensic linguistics
- IS and neuroscience
- IS and cultural studies
- Interpreter training

Abstracts in English (200-300 words, excluding the title and references) should be sent in either .doc, or .pdf format using 2,5 cm (1 inch) margins and a 12 pt font and should include: the author's full name, academic title, affiliation, email address, the title of the paper and three to five key words.

Papers should be 20 minutes long followed by 10-minute-discussion.
The languages of the conference are English and Polish.

Abstracts as well as any enquiries concerning the conference should be sent to: iedisus.edu.pl with ''IEDIS 2015'' mentioned in the e-mail title.
