Meeting Description:
The organising committee of the 1st International UCM Predoctoral Conference on English Linguistics (UPCEL) is pleased to invite PhD students in English Linguistics programmes to participate in our first conference, which will be held September 17-19 2015 at the School of Languages and Philosophy, Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
This conference targets PhD candidates in English Linguistics (namely beyond their first year) adopting social, cognitive and/or functional approaches to their own research. The conference aims to serve as a forum for sharing and discussing topics related to English Linguistics. Likewise, we are interested in finding out which are the most popular and recurrent perspectives/lines postgraduate students in this field are exploring at the moment. Therefore, we envisage this event as a perfect opportunity to create research networks which may be of interest in the future.

Call for Papers:
We invite researchers to submit their proposals in one of the following formats:
Paper Presentations: papers will be presented in 20-minute slots, followed by ten-minute discussion turns.
Posters: posters will be at display in key areas at the conference venue.
All abstracts must be submitted online before May 15, 2015 by filling in the form below.
Abstracts should adhere to the following format instructions:
- Title of proposal in bold
- Indication of whether submitted for paper or poster presentation
- Presenter’s full name
- Name and address of institution, telephone and email
- 500 words max. (incl. references)
-12 pt font, justified, single-spaced
