Dear colleagues,

In my Papuan Malay corpus I found many instances in which speakers mark pertinent parts of their discourse, such as the climax of a narrative, by single hand-claps. Have you come across similar phenomena? Could you point me to some literature regarding this or similar phenomena?

Best wishes,
Angela
