The Linguistics Program at the Pennsylvania State University (http://linguistics.la.psu.edu) invites applications for a three-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Linguistics, beginning Fall 2016. We seek candidates with a record of excellence in teaching, a proven record of research in linguistics, and evidence of interest in cross-disciplinary approaches to linguistics.

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in linguistics or a related field by appointment date. The teaching load is three courses per semester and the ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching across the discipline, primarily at the undergraduate level, including Introduction to linguistics and more specialized courses at the upper-undergraduate level.

The Linguistics Program is affiliated with the Center for Language Science (http://cls.psu.edu/) consisting of faculty and students conducting research in linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, and speech and language pathology. The Visiting Assistant Professor will be expected to participate actively in the cross-disciplinary Center for Language Science community. The Visiting Assistant Professor will also have access to the excellent teaching resources through the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence.
