Welcome to inaugural International Conference of Cultural Linguistics (ICCL2016) 21-22 July, 2016, Prato, Italy

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to join us at the First International Conference on Cultural Linguistics. The overall theme of the conference is Language and Cultural Cognition.

This conference will provide a comprehensive and cutting-edge forum on the topics as well as unlimited opportunities to network with prominent leaders in the field. We look forward to seeing you in July 2016.

Please note that the call for abstracts for the First International Conference of Cultural Linguistics has now been extended to the 15/11/2015.

We kindly invite you to submit abstracts on all topics related to Cultural Linguistics. The topics include, but not limited to, the following:

- Cultural conceptualizations and the structure of language
- Language and cultural categorization
- Language, culture, and embodiment
- Language and cultural conceptualizations of emotions
- Cultural conceptualizations and pragmatic meaning
- Cultural conceptualizations and (im)polite language use
- Applied Cultural Linguistics (e.g., Cultural Linguistics and English Language Teaching, Cultural Linguistics and World Englishes, Cultural Linguistics and Intercultural Communication, Cultural Linguistics and Political Discourse Analysis)
