Sociolinguistics of Language Endangerment (SoLE-4)
Payap University, Chiang Mai, Thailand 26 May 2015
This workshop will discuss and analyze the major sociolinguistic factors in the process of language endangerment. This will take the form of presentations on particular communities from an insider and outsider perspective, as well as overview presentations on specific types of endangerment factors. We will also attempt to provide some examples of successful language maintenance and revival strategies.

We will also attempt to provide some examples of successful language maintenance and revival strategies.
SoLE-1 was held at the 3L Summer School at the School of Oriental and African Studies in 2009. SoLE-2 was held at the Linguistic Society of America Summer Institute at the University of Colorado in 2011. SoLE-3 was held at Yunnan Minzu University in 2014. All four workshops have been under the sponsorship of the Comité International Permanent des Linguistes.
SoLE-4 is organized by Prof David Bradley and Dr Maya Bradley of La Trobe University, and will be held at Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This workshop is being held in conjunction with SEALS 25 at Payap University, Chiang Mai, Thailand 27-29 May 2015.
