Meeting Description:

The second annual Norwegian Graduate Student conference in Linguistics and Philology (NoSLiP) will be hosted by NTNU (Trondheim, Norway) on Thursday 6 through Friday 7 October 2016, including a welcoming event on the evening of the 5th.

NoSLiP is a conference for graduate students, organized by graduate students, on behalf of the Norwegian Graduate Researcher School in Linguistics and Philology (LingPhil). In addition to the contributions made by graduate students, there will be plenary talks given by top researchers in the field.

Confirmed keynote speakers:

- Robyn Carston, University College London
- Penelope Eckert, Stanford University
- Line Mikkelsen, University of California, Berkeley
- Colin Phillips, University of Maryland

2nd Call for Papers:

You are cordially invited to send your contributions for oral or poster presentations by 13 March 2016 (23.59, GMT +1). We welcome submissions from all areas of linguistics and philology, including, but not limited to, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, neurolinguistics, semantics, syntax, and pragmatics. We hope that the conference will reflect the great variety of graduate research within language studies.

Guidelines for abstracts:
- 500 words, excluding references
- Times New Roman, 12-point font size, standard 2,5 margins
- Language: English
- Saved as PDF format, with any phonetic fonts or images embedded
- Abstract’s body must NOT contain information about the authors and their affiliations

All abstract submissions must be made electronically through the EasyAbs service:

LingPhil affiliates can apply for travel grants to cover hotel and travel expenses. For non-affiliated PhD and MA students (also from outside Norway) who would like to participate in the conference, LingPhil will award seven travel scholarships, based on the quality of the submitted abstracts. More information about the scholarships will be provided at a later time.
