Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics

Meeting Description:

The seminar is dedicated to the overall theme of creating networks and intends to promote proposals and reflections on opportunities that may result from creating synergies between Language Centres that are members of AICLU and CERCLES.

The creation of networks between Language Centres, is understood as having the dual dimensions of finding support or consulting with other Centres in order to find solutions for common problems (similar to the Cercles focus groups), as well as promoting synergies that have broader objectives (for example, national language certification projects).

In addition to the traditional presentations that will be organised into plenary and parallel sessions, moments for collaborative discussion during breakout sessions will be planned in work groups that will be formed according to the approach of Open Space Technology, enabling an increase in participation and a broader opportunity to contribute to the discussion.

The main themes will be:

- Innovation in language teaching
- Assessment and certification in language centres
- Language centres and the multilingual university
- Networking: Language centres, Europe and the workplace
- In-service training through language centres
