- You hold a master’s degree in translation, interpreting or multilingual communication, a master’s degree in Linguistics and Literature, or an equivalent thereof, or an equivalent degree, with German. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment;
- You know German at C2 level of the European Reference Framework or as a native speaker;
- You are interested in academic research for a PhD;
- Proficiency in Dutch and any teaching experience or participation in extra training, conferences, etc. are recommended;
- You have excellent teaching, communication and organization skills. You will thrive in an environment where flexibility and teamwork are paramount.

Your tasks

- At least 50% of your assignment will be spent on academic research in preparation of a doctoral dissertation in any of the research groups of the Translation, Interpreting and Communication Department of Ghent University: (INTERCOMM:; EQTIS and TRACE:;; GOLLD:; LT3:;
- You will assist in the teaching activities at the department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication, in particular in the field of language practices in German;
- You will assist in the internal and external services of the Department and its German section.
