I am looking to build, analyse, and ultimately make available a densely-sampled corpus of my son's linguistic development, beginning at around 8 months.

To this end, I am looking to get a sense of all the available instruments and measures that would be potentially useful in tracking his development. These would be either linguistic (e.g. Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test, the MacArthur-Bates Index, the Oxford Index, MTLD, VocD) or non-linguistic (e.g. Bayley scales). Ideally, these would also be corpus-based instruments or instruments suitable for application in a naturalistic environment.

My son is British, so instruments designed for this particular context would also be ideal. However, it would also be interesting to get a sense of how the range of measures varies according to the national setting; provided they are applicable to English-speakers.

I will, of course, provide a summary of the feedback to Linguist List.

Any help and advice here would be much appreciated.

With best wishes, and thanks,
Mark
