Description:

Ball State University is inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English with a specialization in Linguistics and/or Applied Linguistics, available August 18, 2017.

Major responsibilities: Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in Phonetics, Phonology, and at least one other area of Linguistics or Applied Linguistics, and general linguistics for undergraduate, MA TESOL and Linguistics and doctoral Applied Linguistics programs; maintain a productive research agenda in area(s) of specialization, and direct graduate student research.

Minimum qualifications: Earned doctorate in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, or related area by August 18, 2017; expertise to teach Phonology and Phonetics, and at least one other area of Linguistics and/or Applied Linguistics; record of effective teaching; record of research in area(s) of specialization.

Preferred qualifications: Graduate teaching experience in Linguistics and/or Applied Linguistics and refereed publication in area(s) of specialization.
