Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics

Studia Orientalia Electronica (StOrE) is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal which is completely Open Access ( It publishes original research articles and reviews in all fields of Asian and African studies, but the main areas of interest are African studies, Arabic and Islamic Studies, Semitic Studies, Altaic studies, East Asian Studies, South Asian Studies, Arabic Linguistics, Assyriology, Egyptology, and Japanese Studies.

StOrE is an offshoot of Studia Orientalia, an internationally recognized publication series (see for further information on Studia Orientalia and the publisher, Finnish Oriental Society). StOrE was established in 2013 to continue and augment the fine publishing tradition of Studia Orientalia. The new journal publishes high quality articles in a more modern and accessible Open Access format.

All contributions to Studia Orientalia Electronica are submitted to two anonymous peer-reviewers. The statements from the reviewers and the publication decision are usually sent to the writer within two months of submission. Individual articles are published as soon as they are ready. These articles are added to the current volume (with each year's contributions comprising a volume).

All of this makes StOrE a fast and reliable way to publish your research results. Open Access policy makes it easy for colleagues to find and cite your research. Authors of articles published in StOrE do not pay any publication fees; all costs are fully covered by StOrE. If you are interested in publishing with us, please visit for more details.
