This message is to announce that Manchester Metropolitan has made £2.5 million available for PhD scholarships to support the most talented and ambitious new researchers across a wide range of specialist subjects. PhD scholarships are being offered across twelve University Research Centres which focus on areas of excellence and quality as independently confirmed by the REF 2014.
Of particular interest to this list are three linguistics topics:
1) The linguistic performance of (regional) identity through grime;
2) The pragmatics of influence and persuasion; and
3) The role of forensic linguistics expert testimony in the courtroom: mock-jurors’ ability to detect authorial style
