Focus: The goal of the summer school is to offer training and scholarship in both understanding the Systemic Functional Linguistic (SFL) theory of language and applying it to real-world challenges. This year we are focussing on languages other than English.
Minimum Education Level: BA
Special Qualifications: This event is open to all.

Description:
Two courses will be offered in parallel.

The first course offers an Introduction to Systemic Functional Linguistics.

The second course entitled SFL and Languages other than English includes the following topics:

Audio Description – Textual access for the sensorially disabled
Modelling lexis and phraseology in English, French and Italian in a Systemic Functional Grammar
An SFL description of Arabic
Metafunctional journey through Spanish
Issues in Translation
Language Typology
Writing orthographies for minority languages
Theme in English and Chinese
