Focus: The Summer Intensive Interpreter Training is offered every other year and focuses on consecutive and simultaneous interpretation. Languages offered in 2017 are French, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and Vietnamese (language availability depending on enrollment).
Minimum Education Level: No Minimum
Special Qualifications: Participants must be advanced users of their A and B languages. A screening exam must be passed for selection into the program.
Description:
The Center for Interpretation & Translation Studies (CITS) at the University of Hawai'i, USA, is currently accepting applications for a rare opportunity to hone your interpreting skills during its Summer Intensive Interpreter Training (SIIT). From July 3 to August 11, 2017, participants will be trained in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting by nationally and internationally renowned faculty, some of whom have longstanding experience with interpreting for the United Nations and European Parliament. This year we offer training in French, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and Vietnamese. Please visit our website at
