Meeting Description:
The symposium focuses on the translation of research into clinical practice for aphasia.
Sessions to include:
Measuring – what to measure and measuring outcomes
Mental capacity in aphasia
Assessment and therapy at acute stage
Psychological support
Technology for people with aphasia, and technology for clinicians
Final programme to be announced in June/July.
Call for Papers:
Deadline for abstracts: 28 April 2017
Submissions are invited from any aetiology (stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia) and any aspect of rehabilitation (assessment, treatment, outcomes etc.).
Submissions are welcome for:
Posters:
Lightening talks: (5-10 minute talk, 5 minutes for questions)
Talks (20-25 minute talk, 5-10 minutes for questions)
Workshops (practical sessions for delegates to discuss topics in small groups, led by one or more presenters).
Themed sessions (a group of related talks, can be run alongside a workshop if desired)
Structured abstracts will be anonymised by BAS before review.
They should be structured using the headings:
Front page: name(s) and contact details
Second page:
Either: Title, background, method, results, discussion for posters and presentations
Or: Title, background and motivation for theme or workshop
Length: 400 words not including references.
Deadline: 28 April 2017
Authors will be notified in June 2017.
