The INTO USF Academic Director has oversight and responsibility for the operations of the academic programs aligned with the INTO USF Center. This includes, but is not limited to, academic and operational oversight of:
- USF English Language Program
- USF Undergraduate and Graduate Pathway Programs
- Tutoring and learning services
- CEA Accreditation
- Faculty encompassing senior instructors, adjuncts and PhD TAs and MA interns
- Academic advisers
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):
- Masters’ degree in Applied Linguistics, TESOL or related field with 18 hours of university-level TESL courses.
- At least 3 years ESL teaching experience.
- At least 3 years English language program administrative experience, supervising a team of faculty, staff or administrators in a college or university environment.
- Advanced proficiency in spoken and written academic English.
- Eligibility to work in the United States at time of appointment and ability to travel internationally to/from the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience)
- Doctorate Degree (preferably in a discipline closely related to Applied Linguistics)
- 5 or more years of English language program administrative experience, supervising a team of faculty, staff or administrators in a college or university environment.
- Evidence of contributions to colleagues’ professional development, demonstrated by workshops, collaborative materials development, or other activities.
- Evidence of experience with achieving / maintaining accreditation with CEA or a similar accrediting body.
- Evidence of teaching / administrative experience both in the US and abroad.
- Knowledge of and/or evidence of experience with English programs that lead to university matriculation or coincide with university enrollment, such as Pathway/Bridge programs.
- Evidence of experience with tutoring and learning services.
- Evidence of experience with academic advisors.
- Evidence of experience with curriculum.
- Experience as a language learner demonstrated by proficiency in another language.
