I am pleased to announce a freely available R package for linguistic mapping – lingtypology 1.0.1. The lingtypology package connects R with the Glottolog database (v. 2.7, and I will keep an eye on updates). This package helps researchers to make linguistic maps, using the philosophy of the Cross-Linguistic Linked Data project. From now on, creating interactive linguistic maps can easily be created with just one line of R code: just make a simple table with languages and features. Please check the manual: https://agricolamz.github.io/lingtypology/

Lingtypology is released under the GNU General Public License and runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.

Version 1.0.1 comes with the following new features and changes:

- Added image arguments
- Added tile argument for layouts
- Added argument glottolog.source (Many thanks to Robert Forkel for his issue and his work!)
- Fixed all warnings in CRAN checks
- Some coordinates and language names corrected and stored in glottolog.modified
