Description:

Teaching:
In close collaboration with the team of English linguistics, the recruited candidate will teach English phonetics classes at BA and MA level. He/she may also be invited to teach linguistics in the interfaculty “Teacher training” program for the French “agrégation d’anglais” (English language teaching qualification), in line with the programs jointly developed by the faculty members of the Department of Linguistics.
If needed, the candidate may be solicited to be involved in the team of instructors for oral expression (“Argumentation” course).

The candidate will have an excellent knowledge of English and will be expected to acquire an excellent proficiency in French. He/she is expected to actively meet the pedagogical needs of the Department and get dynamically involved in its different activities.

Research:
The recruited person will join the research group « Savoirs, Textes, Langage» (STL, UMR 8163) of the CNRS & University of Lille. Their research will contribute to the research group «Forme et sens» («Form and Meaning») and should be situated within one of its four research strands (“Interpretation”, “Representation”, “Cognition”, or “Application”; see also https://stl.univ-lille.fr/les-champs-de-recherche/forme-et-sens/). We highly welcome applicants working on the interface between phonetics and another/other major subfield/s of linguistics.

Responsibilities:
The recruited person is expected to collaborate with the members of the STL research group and to contribute to the organization and development of its scientific activities (organization of workshops or international colloquiums, editorial activities, seminars for the research group or for the doctoral school in Human and Social Sciences).
