Description:

Data Scientists in the Linguistics, Analytics, and Data Science group at ProSearch discover information hidden in vast amounts of text data to support the custom search, technology assisted review (TAR), and information retrieval needs of our clients. A Data Scientist, Level I is responsible for extracting, transforming, and deriving actionable insights from large amounts of structured and unstructured data, and delivering these insights in the forms of easy-to-understand data visualizations. Additionally, Level I Data Scientists provide search support and use out-of-the-box machine learning programs as part of our current information retrieval workflow.

Responsibilities:
- Understand document review goals and project constraints
- Transform large, complex datasets and create easy-to-understand and interactive data visualizations
- Assess third party tools and develop business processes and documentation to support their use
- Develop, implement, and refine search and sampling strategies
- Report on findings and provide information tailored to the specific needs of audiences that include attorneys, technologists, analysts, and executives
- Provide internal training and consultative support for Project Analysts and Project Managers overseeing technology assisted reviews

Minimum Qualifications:
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- MA/MS or PhD degree in an analytical field (e.g., Linguistics, Psychology, Computational Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Human Language Technology, Statistics, Mathematics)
- Proficiency in Python or R
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., D3.js, RShiny, and/or Matplotlib)
- Experience with SQL for data retrieval and transformation
- Familiarity with regular expression
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in working with large datasets
- Familiarity with data mining and machine learning techniques
- Experience using natural language processing tools or workbenches
- Knowledge of syntax, morphology, and semantics
