This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to NLU (Natural Language Understanding) development in automotive projects with well-known automotive customers. As a Speech Scientist you will supervise and execute the development of NLU models for the US English and German language. You will also participate in the activities on all the projects related to NLU data procurement and act as a coordinator between NLU and UI development teams within the customer project.

- Analysis of customer requirements for realizing NLU on embedded platforms
- In accordance to customer requirement analysis, specifying data needed to train NLU models
- Collect, analyze, and process text and audio data in the target language to build a target language model
- Contribute to the development of tools and procedures with the scope of optimize and simplify the activities of NLU data procurement and NLU contexts development.
- Work with UI and application development engineers and QA teams within the scope of one or more customer projects to realize the project deliverables.
- Act as a reference point and coordinate all NLU related tasks in the project.

- Very good linguistic skills
- Good basic knowledge of computer science (use of spreadsheets, command line shell, version control, web tools, programming, particularly Python and regular expressions)
- Effective communication and good organization skills
- Native or near-native proficiency in German.
- Very good oral and written knowledge of the English language.

Preferred Skills:
- Background in speech technology or language processing.
- Experience with Natural Language Understanding or statistical / semantic language modelling.
- Advanced user of Windows and Linux platforms.
- Engineering practices in design, coding, and testing.
- Skills in further languages e.g. French

Education: Master University degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Information technology or a comparable field.
