My name is Karen Glaser, and I am an applied linguist and language teacher educator at University of Leipzig, Germany.

For a current project on language awareness, I would like to request the input of native English speakers on the correctness/appropriateness of utterances.

I have developed an online questionnaire with 17 short every-day situations which asks the participants to decide whether the final line in the dialog is unproblematic or problematic in some respect. My hope is that the violations are obvious and ''stand out'' to a native speaker more or less right away, so the task is hopefully rather straightforward and NOT to find problems/errors where there are none.

The survey takes about 20-25min to complete. You can also pause and continue at a later time if you store or write down the code you'll see in the top right-hand corner.

This is the link:

I would be very grateful if you could spare the time to help me with my data collection. If you have any questions about my project, don't hesitate to contact me at

Thank you for considering my request.
