The Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations together with the Department of Linguistics and the Arabic Linguistics Society are delighted to announce that the 33rd Annual Symposium on Arabic Linguistics will be held at The University of Toronto-Downtown Campus, April 5-7, 2019.

Papers are invited on topics that deal with theoretical and applied issues in Arabic Linguistics. Research in the following areas of Arabic linguistics is encouraged: linguistic analysis (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics), sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, discourse analysis, historical linguistics, corpus linguistics, and computational linguistics.

Deadline for Receipt of Abstracts: November 15, 2018

Fees (all fees are in US dollars)

Arabic Linguistics Society membership: $50 for students and $70 for non-students.

Presenters must become members of the Arabic Linguistics Society by February 15, in order for their presentation to be included in the program.

Registration fees (required of all presenters at the symposium):

Through February 15: $50 for students and $70 for non-students After February 15: $60 for students and $80 for non-students
