The School of International Letters & Cultures (SILC) at Arizona State University (Tempe Campus) invites applications for a full time tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Spanish Linguistics with a specialization in Phonetics/Phonology and specific expertise in statistical analysis. Anticipated start date is August 2019.

Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Spanish, Spanish Linguistics or Linguistics at the time of hire.
- Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English.

Desired Qualifications:
- Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate linguistics courses.
- Ability to teach statistics for linguists.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in college-level teaching, including online courses.
- Demonstrated commitment to U.S. Southwest Spanish.
- A record of published research In Spanish Phonetics/Phonology.
- Demonstrated success meeting the needs of diverse student populations and/or reaching out to diverse communities.

Position duties include:
Teaching undergraduate and graduate linguistics courses including Research Methods, mentor graduate students; and participate in service to the university and profession as appropriate in rank.
