Carleton University's School of Linguistics and Language Studies invites applications for a tenure-track position in Linguistics with a specialization in Psycholinguistics and Communication Disorders at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2019.

The School's Linguistics program is housed in a unit representing a rich diversity of perspectives on language, with degree programs in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics & Discourse Studies. To learn more, please visit the department link provided above.

By July 1, 2019, applicants must have in hand a Ph.D. in Psycholinguistics or a related field of research, such as Cognitive Science or Psychology, with a primary specialization in speech-language pathology or communication disorders. Applicants must also have a well-defined research agenda and an active research profile with a strong commitment to the dissemination of scholarship through publication.

Applicants must also have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. A clinical background in speech-language pathology will be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a culturally diverse student body in both undergraduate and graduate programs, to provide graduate supervision at the MA and Ph.D. levels, to develop a program of research leading to significant peer-reviewed publications, and to contribute effectively to academic life in the School of Linguistics and Language Studies.
