Description:

Starting March 1st 2018, the Collaborative Research Center SFB 833 “The construction of meaning” at the University of Tübingen, Germany, (http://www.uni-tuebingen.de/en/research/core-research/collaborative-research-centers/sfb-833/support-and-it-maintenance-z2.html) is offering a position as a Research Assistant (E 13 TV-L, 65 %), limited until June 30th, 2021.

Requirements:
- University degree (Diploma/ M.Sc or equivalent) in the field of cognitive science or linguistics
(for example cognitive science, psychology, linguistics, computational linguistics, ...)
- Experience in the administration and maintenance of IT systems
- Research interest in language and semantics, especially in semantic processing
- Firm methodological and statistical knowledge
- High language proficiency in English (and possibly German)

This position is part of the service project Z2: “Experimental support and IT maintenance” which also employs a postdoc and a student assistant. Project Z2 supports and advises other researchers in the SFB 833 in experimental and statistical questions, and organises methodological courses. Furthermore, Project Z2, and especially the position offered here, provides service and maintenance in IT questions, including the acquisition of hardware and software, administration of a network drive and a server, and lab maintenance.

In the context of this position, you will be able to work on a dissertation within the field of language and language processing, with a focus on semantics. Within this field, you have the option to choose the topic of your dissertation according to your research interests. The dissertation will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Barbara Kaup, and the PhD position is typically closely associated to the Language and Cognition lab of the Department of Psychology (http://www.uni-tuebingen.de/en/faculties/faculty-of-science/departments/psychology/research-groups/language-and-cognition/research-group.html).
