We are glad to announce that the 21st AICED ( Annual Internațional Conference of the English Department) will be held in Bucharest on June 6-8 2019.
AICED represents one of the most important Romanian venue for discussions on every aspect of generative grammar and formal linguistics.
The conference will deal with any topic in generative grammar and the formal study of language, including linguistic submodules and their interfaces, language acquisition and psycholinguistics.
As has become traditional, the conference will include a themed workshop (Workshop convenor Alina Tigau, University Of Bucharest ). In 2019, the theme will be Dynamic Semantics. We welcome papers on any topic on Semantic Theory, especially on Cognitive and Referential Semantics and Discourse Representation Theory. The workshop focuses not only on theoretical research but also on experimental research.
This year our invited speakers are:
Giuliana Giusti (University Ca' Foscari of Venice), giving a talk on Feature merger and feature realization. A unifying approach to the NP/DP-dispute
Jutta Hartmann (IDS, Mannheim), giving a talk on Issues in Non-Finite Complementation: English and beyond
Hans Kamp (Stuttgart University), giving a talk on Coreferential and non-coreferential strategies for the interpretation of definite descriptions

Venue: University of Bucharest, Romania
The English Department of the University of Bucharest will hold its 21st Annual Conference from 6 to 8 June, 2019.
Papers are invited in:
Theoretical Linguistics (syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics and the interfaces)
Language acquisition
Applied Linguistics
Translation studies
This year, our invited speakers are:

Presentations will be allocated 25 minutes each, plus 5 minutes for discussion. Prospective participants are invited to submit anonymous abstracts in both Pdf and Word formats. Abstracts should not exceed two A4 pages, Times New Roman 12, single spaced. Information regarding name and institutional affiliation should be included in the body of the email.

A selection of the papers will be published in a Proceedings of AICED 21 volume.
